Here’s to LOVE! Today is our two year anniversary. Yesterday we got to go out to the property where we got married in Franklin, TN and spend an afternoon enjoying this beautiful weather that we’ve been having. These past two years have flown by and at the same time it feels like we have been married forever. Here is our wedding video if you have not gotten to see it…
Zipline Fun for Travis' B-Day
Last week, in preparation for the RETCO Exchange Tour, the staff and volunteers at GSM did some team building activities. Part of these activities were to take personality tests to get to know ourselves and each other a little better. We took the Myers Briggs Personality Test and it was really fun to see what category everyone fell in. Travis and I took it a step further today and read each others and discussed where we thought the test results and descriptions were accurate and where it was not so spot on. We talked about our strengths and our weaknesses and how our communication skills are improving and where they still need some help. Here are our results: INFJ & INTJ…. can you guess who’s who?
Also since Travis was in Africa for his birthday we celebrated him on Friday. Gavin, Katy and I took him zip-lining in Kingston Springs (thank you Groupon!) and then went out to eat. It was a fun day of doing something out of the norm!
Today Travis turns 29 years old. He is in Nairobi with Brady Keeling on a Red Earth Trading Co. trip. I think it is perfect that he is in Africa on his birthday (even though I miss him like cah-razy) because he is getting to do what he loves. Happy Birthday Babe! Here’s a little bit of what I think about you.
You are a wonderful man as all those who know you, I’m sure would agree. You are a leader and an example to not only me but to the whole team at GSM, KTA, and RETCo, as well as to our friends and family. You live your life full of integrity, honesty and purpose. You are one of the most talented and hardworking people I know and I have yet to see a challenge that you did not rise to meet. When you make a mistake or let others down, you are quick to own up to it and apologize and I respect you for that. You have laid down your life to serve in the way that God has called you to. You have a humble and loving heart and I know that God delights in your obedience, your creativity, your perseverance, and your love for adventure. I also know that you have sacrificed in areas that people may never get to see but be encouraged because God sees all.
Today my birthday wish for you is that you would know how much you are loved by so many. I pray that God continues to grow you into the man that He destined you to be. I pray that this year you would continue to be tuned into His heart and that He would pour out His blessing on your life. “I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. And I pray that you being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know his love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more then all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations.” Eph. 3: 14-21.
Babe, whether or not we have a lot of earthly possessions. wealth, or success as the world sees it, does not matter to me. You have touched so many by being obedient to God and you will never know the impact your life has had on this world until you are standing on the other side. Just think, all this and you are only 29! What does the rest of this life hold?! Thank you for loving me and including me in on your journey! Happy 29th!
